Arrest Warrants Issued For Missing Sex Offenders

Spokane police are looking for two dangerous sex offenders who moved and failed to notify authorities.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Mark Allen Crabtree and Paul McElfish, and police are asking for help finding the two men.

Crabtree and McElfish both are classified as Level III offenders, considered highly likely to re-offend.

Police say Crabtree, 33, is a chronic offender who targets children.

He has convictions for first-degree statutory rape, first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation.

Crabtree, a licensed practical nurse, has befriended women with young children, then attempted to molest the children.

He made headlines in 1994 when angry neighbors picketed outside his Spokane apartment after he was released from jail.

Crabtree is 5 foot 7 inches tall, 158 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police say McElfish, 25, is an “entrenched sexual deviant” who preys on boys and girls.

In 1988, he was convicted in Stevens County of two counts each of first-degree child molestation and first-degree child rape.

McElfish is 6 foot 1 inch tall, 250 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either man is asked to call Crime Check, 456-2233.
