Anti-Tank Grenade Hits Hells Angels Fort

Compiled From Wire Services

A thundering explosion early today tore through the fortresslike headquarters of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang in the Danish capital, killing two people and injuring at least 16 others.

The 3 a.m. blast was caused by an anti-tank grenade fired from the roof of a building behind the compound.

Police criminal inspector Kurt Jensen said two people were killed and 16 injured, several of them seriously.

Police and members of the Danish army’s bomb squad later found a second unused anti-tank grenade on the roof of the adjacent building.

Police suspected the rival Bandidos gang, who have been fighting a 2-year-long feud with the Hells Angels in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

It is unclear what started the feud in the Nordic countries between the Corpus Christi, Texas-based Bandidos and the Oakland, Calif.-based Hells Angels. But police suspect a grab for drug and crime markets.

Altogether, at least nine people have died and more than 50 have been injured in the dispute.
