Six Arrested On Drug Charges
Six people were arrested on drug charges late Friday and early Saturday in unrelated incidents in four different locations.
Anthony W. Sweet, 30, of Kennewick, and Kaylinda M. Stout, 20, Spokane, were the first to be arrested late Friday. Sweet was driving a car that was stopped just before midnight at Maple and Knox because it had no license plate, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.
Chauncey D. Jacques, 19, was arrested after he tried to elude police near Buckeye and Cedar about 5 a.m., Cottam said. Police reportedly found bags of crack cocaine in Jacques’ pockets. Jacques, a convicted felon, also had a handgun when he was arrested, Cottam said.
Jacques, who gave his address as 2712-1/2 N. Cedar, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on drug and weapons charges.
A police dog found drugs in the car, and Sweet and Stout were booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Cottam said.
Also arrested for drug possession early Saturday were: 28-year-old Darrell Bernard Hudson, 1513 W. Chelan, 21-year-old Teresa Marie Asmussen, 2212 W. Mallon, and 41-year-old Sharon Ann Lewis, 1111 W. Tenth.
Hudson and Asmussen were arrested at the Merlin Apartments, 29 W. Second about 5 a.m. Police responding to a call for assistance at the building found both in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, Cottam said.
Lewis allegedly had drug paraphernalia in her car and cocaine with her when she was arrested at the Del Mar Apartments, 111 W. Third.
