Idaho Jv Falls To Walla Walla

The University of Idaho junior varsity won the yardage battle but turnovers were costly to the Vandal JVs and the result was a 30-26 loss to Walla Walla Community College Friday afternoon in the Kibbie Dome.

The Vandal JVs piled up 445 yards total offense but lost the ball three times on interceptions and three times on fumbles.

Idaho led 20-14 to start the fourth quarter but WWCC closed to within 20-17 on a 38-yard Sean O’Laughlin field goal and then took the lead on a 3-yard run by Rico Jones with 1:42 left.

The Warriors took the advantage two plays later when Demetrius Ross returned an interception of a Darick Pope pass 29 yards for a touchdown.

Kimiko Bandy put the Vandals in position to have a shot at victory at the end of the game when he connected with Pope on a 70- yard TD play.

The Warriors, despite being backed up against their goal line, were able to run out the clock.

Pope, a freshman from Post Falls, was 23 of 43 for 379 yards and was intercepted three times. , DataTimes
