Teachers Strip To Protest Indecent Pay

Paltry pay has left them with nothing, not even a little pride, Indian teachers complain. So they decided to demonstrate the “naked truth.”

Clad only in underwear, loin cloths and some simply in the buff, teachers from India’s northeastern state of Bihar marched through the streets of New Delhi on Thursday to demand decent pay.

The teachers say they have not been paid their government wages for years, and are forced to earn extra money as tutors.

The revealing protest raised eyebrows in prudish India, but led to no arrests.
