Craswell, Locke Debate Thursday

From Staff And Wire Reports

The two candidates for governor, Republican Ellen Craswell and Democrat Gary Locke, will meet next week in the first debate of the general election campaign.

The Association of Washington Business announced Friday that Locke and Craswell have confirmed their participation in the debate, scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday.

The event was organized as part of the AWB’s annual policy summit, held this year at the Inn at Semi-ah-moo near Blaine. Other debates that day will include the candidates for superintendent of public instruction, insurance commissioner and lieutenant governor.

According to the AWB, the gubernatorial debate will be carried live on KOMO-TV and radio and KVI radio in Seattle, KXLY-TV and radio in Spokane, KONA radio in the Tri-Cities and KPQ radio in Wenatchee.
