Truck Hauling Israeli Soldiers Attacked

Compiled From Wire Services

A passenger truck carrying Israeli soldiers plunged off an embankment, overturned and burned Wednesday near this Palestinian refugee camp after a firebomb was thrown through its windshield.

The driver and 12 soldiers were hurt in the attack, the most serious in a series of assaults in recent weeks on Israeli vehicles traveling West Bank roads.

The incident occurred at a bend in the Ramallah-Nablus road that bypasses Jalazoun, a hillside refugee camp from which stones have been thrown at Israeli vehicles in recent days.
