Kootenai County Cites Carol Grubbs For Efforts

Carol Grubbs, was recently chosen as the Kootenai County Employee of the Year for 1996.

Grubbs, who is responsible for purchasing at the Kootenai County Sheriff’s office, has assisted with the county’s contract with Boise Cascade. She assembled, analyzed and recommended changes to the contract, and as a result, improved the process by which county departments dealt with Boise Cascade.

Grubbs was also commended for being instrumental in establishing a working relationship with the City of Post Falls by coordinating purchasing between the city and county.

She was cited for saving the county thousands of dollars, and for moving the county closer to fulfilling its vision of an innovative, cost-effective government.

The Kootenai County Employee Recognition Program, designed to recognize employees who contribute to improved customer service or cost effectiveness, recently announced the Employees of the Month for January and February.

Rick Palmer, January Employee of the Month, was chosen for generating an overall savings of $50,000 to the county while working with architects and mechanical engineers on a plan review for the new County Administrative Building which will be occupied later this year.

Cori Marshall, February Employee of the Month, was chosen for improving efficiency and productivity at the Public Defender’s Office through the implementation of changes to the office computer system and instilling a friendly, compassionate customer service attitude to the public.

Kootenai County Chief Public Defender John M. Adams, was recently elected to the board of Idaho Attorneys for Criminal Justice (IACJ) and Public Defender investigator Mark Durant, was elected to the association’s committee on Continuing Legal Education.
