The Kid Looks Like Her From Both Sides Now

Singer Joni Mitchell has found the daughter she put up for adoption 32 years ago.

“Apparently her daughter was looking for her, too, so there’s sort of a fairy tale ending,” said Mitchell’s father, Bill Anderson. “We’ve seen pictures and you can see the similarities.”

The child was conceived while Mitchell was an art student. She didn’t tell her parents about the pregnancy until two years later.

“We’re quite happy. (Mitchell and her daughter) have been together, and we’re looking forward to meeting her later,” Anderson said.

Mitchell said in December that she hoped to have her parents meet their granddaughter while they were still alive.

The father, Toronto photographer Brad McMath, said he and Mitchell “really didn’t want to get married and settle down” at the time.

The question is, is there enough interest?

Remember how David Bowie raised $55 million by selling bonds to be repaid from future royalties on his old music? Artists said to be considering similar moves include the Rolling Stones, Sting, Pink Floyd, and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
