Cda, Lakeland Schools Recognized For Efforts

The Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland school districts were among 11 in Idaho that recently were given “What Parents Want” awards. The awards are presented annually by School Match, a consulting firm that helps businesses and parents choose school districts. Districts are chosen on whether they are making noteworthy efforts to meet the needs of their patrons.

The Post Falls School District has announced the Educational Support Personnel (ESP) Outstanding Employees of the Month for February and March.

Tia Crawford, chosen for February, works as a secretarial aide at Post Falls Middle School. Her duties include attendance, receptionist and helping students and teachers in many areas.

Crawford, a six-year district veteran, spent three years as a paraprofessional at Ponderosa Elementary School and has served three years in her current position.

Dianne Selden, March Employee of the Month, has worked for the district for 13 years and serves as the vocational resource paraprofessional at Post Falls High School.

She was cited for ensuring the success of students in Loren Lee’s classroom and for using compassion and understanding to gain success in any given situation.

Buck Samuels, a senior at Priest River High School, recently received a $1,000 scholarship from Wal-Mart as part of the Sam Walton Community Leader award program.

Samuels received the scholarship based on academic performance, and involvement in school and community activities.
