Europa Will Sweeten Up Tax-Filing Day

A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, right? Europa wants to help soothe the sting of tax day with a dessert extravaganza.

For $10, guests will be invited to feast on 10 different sweet desserts and five savory treats.

A selection of dessert wines from Spokane vintners will be poured to complement the goodies.

The fun starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Europa, 125 S. Wall. Buy your tickets in advance and save a buck. Call 455-4051.

Premium varietals from the Northwest, California and Italy will be poured during a wine tasting party thrown by the Sons of Norway Ladies Auxiliary on Saturday night.

The ticket price ($12 at the door) includes appetizers and sweets, as well as the chance to win door prizes.

Money raised during the event benefits the groups’ college scholarship fund.
