Reeves Caps Swell Week Of Slugging

Grant Reeves completed an astounding week of Greater Spokane League baseball play Thursday.
Reeves had a grand slam during an 11-run fourth inning, and added three singles and three other runs batted in as Mead (4-1) beat visiting University 22-9.
In three games during the week, the Panthers senior had 10 hits, including four homers, and 19 RBIs.
Mead’s Joe Chimienti also had seven RBIs and a grand slam in the fourth. Jason Kostelecky of the Panthers added eight total bases and two RBIs.
U-Hi is 2-2.

Eric Sandberg pitched a three-hitter and struck out 15, and Marques Mollett scored three runs and had four RBIs as the visiting Saxons (4-0) beat the Highlanders (2-3) to stay ahead of Mead.
In two complete-game starts, Sandberg has allowed four hits and struck out 31.
Joe Moll had a double and single during the Saxons’ 10-run second.
