Zephyr Serves Up Mexican Offerings

The musicians of Zephyr will provide a hot evening of chamber music tonight with percussion music by Mexican composer Carlos Chavez and “The Grand Tango” by Argentina’s greatest modern master of the dance, Astor Piazzola.

New York-based cellist Darrett Adkins will perform along with Zephyr artistic director and pianist Kendall Feeney, flutist Bruce Bodden and a sextet made up of percussion players from the Spokane Symphony and EWU.

Tonight’s program, “Danzas and Tangos,” also features works by Villa Lobos, Alberto Ginastera and Adriana Verdie de vas Romero. The Zephyr concert begins at 8 tonight at The Met. Tickets are $14 and $12, $8 for students.
