Boy Kidnapped After Dad, 2 Others Stabbed, Bound

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police searched Sunday for a 13-month-old Pasco boy abducted by five men who first stabbed and bound the boy’s father and two other male relatives.

The boy was taken from his father on Saturday afternoon at his apartment.

The kidnappers told the men they would be calling back to demand a ransom of $50,000, Sgt. Henry Montelongo said.

Police believe the kidnappers also may have stolen a tan Chevrolet pickup truck from the apartment complex.

The truck was found south of Seattle on Sunday, and a woman was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle, King County police said.

It hadn’t been determined Sunday night if she had any role in the abduction, police said.

Pasco police also were at a loss to describe the abductors.

“We’ve got very little to go with. We don’t have any description. Just five male suspects,” Montelongo said.

The boy’s father and the two other relatives were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for stab wounds and then released.

Police would not release the name of the toddler or his family.

A friend of one of the victims phoned police after the attack at the apartment, police said.

When police arrived, the three men had wriggled out of the handcuffs and electrical wire that had been used to restrain them, he said.
