Yakima Topples North Idaho In Doubleheader

Yakima Valley swept a baseball doubleheader from North Idaho College, winning 10-5 and 8-7 Tuesday at Coeur d’Alene.

Brock Doll’s three-run homer keyed a seven-run fifth for YVCC in the opener.

In the nightcap, Yakima Valley scored four in the seventh to win.

Vandals third in golf

The University of Idaho women’s golf team shot a 326 third round to place third at the Big West Championship at the UI Golf Course. New Mexico State, ranked 20th in the nation, scorched the five-team field with a 54-hole team total of 913.

UI sophomore Elizabeth Carter tied for third with a score of 235 and was chosen second-team all-conference.
