Boeing Directors Ok Launch Of Stretch 767
The Boeing Co.’s board of directors on Tuesday officially approved production of a stretched version of the widebody 767.
The twin-engine 767-400ER will be 21 feet longer than the current 767-300 model and have bigger wings and new landing gear, the company said. The extended-range plane will be able to carry 245 passengers 6,500 miles.
Delta Air Lines ordered 21 of the jets last month, with the initial plane to be delivered in 2000.
