One Person Dead After Gun Dispute

A man is dead and a woman wounded after both were shot during a domestic dispute, authorities said.

Blackfoot police did not immediately release the names of the two who became embroiled in the altercation late Monday.

Police Capt. Jim Richardson said the 27-year-old man was flown to Columbia Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where he died, while the 26-year-old woman underwent surgery at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.

Detectives have the weapon they believe was used in the shootings, but are still investigating the incident.
