Retiree Shot To Death By Alleged Stalker

Compiled From Wire Services

A retiree was shot to death outside his home by a stalker who apparently was under the delusion that the victim had ruined his life, police say.

Harold Leifeste, 67, was shot repeatedly in the head and neck Monday morning by someone wearing black camouflage-type paint on his face.

Leifeste’s wife and a city water crew witnessed the slaying.

Fredrick Edward Aschbacher, 56, was charged with murder and jailed on $250,000 bail.
