Tabloid types are all abuzz amid rumors that Barbra Streisand and beau James Brolin will tie the knot this weekend on Block Island, near Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.

No clear-cut denials have been issued by either celebrity’s camp. The manager at the island’s majestic, oceanview Victorian hotel, Spring House, admits there’s a wedding scheduled this weekend, but insists it involves no one famous.

Then there’s the schedule change by President Clinton, who had planned to visit Block Island this weekend on his way to a Martha’s Vineyard vacation, but postponed the stop for a week.

An island newspaper reported Streisand feared her pal Clinton’s presence there this weekend would attract unwelcome crowds.

When a woman works these kinds of hours, it’s called something else, and that’s unfair.”
