It’s An Early Morning Jolt When Dane Looks In, And Python Looks Up

Thor Skule woke up instantly when he drowsily lifted the toilet seat early in the morning, and the head of a python peeped out.

Skule yelled to his girlfriend, Karina Kristoffersen, who called the fire department, the Ekstra Bladet daily said.

But before the firefighters reached the central Copenhagen apartment, a toilet was flushed in the apartment building, sucking the 3-foot snake back into the pipes.

The reptile disappeared for hours, prompting the firefighters to go home. Kristoffersen, who is a zookeeper trainee, later managed to grab the exhausted python when it resurfaced in a neighbor’s toilet four hours later.

The snake had escaped in April from its owner who previously lived in Skule and Kristoffersen’s apartment.
