Mobile Home Fire Kills Pets, Leaves Mead Family Homeless
Fire destroyed a Mead mobile home Thursday morning, killing two pets and leaving a family of five homeless.
Neighbors saw flames inside the residence in the 11800 block of Wilson Road about 6:45 a.m., said Skip Wells, deputy chief of Fire District 9.
The mobile home was burning furiously when fire crews arrived, Wells said.
Firefighters thought the people who live there might be home and searched the building, he said. But the family had left about 45 minutes before the blaze began.
No people were hurt, but a cat and exotic fish were killed in the fire, Wells said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, but initial reports indicate an electrical problem, Wells said. , DataTimes
