Power Outage Benches M’S, O’S

Associated Press

A partial power failure at Camden Yards postponed Thursday night’s game between the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles after a delay of nearly 2-1/2 hours.

The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader today, with the first game scheduled for 10:35 a.m. (PDT) and the second game slated for 4:35 p.m. Both games will be televised in Spokane on cable channel 25.

It’s the last scheduled trip to Baltimore for the Mariners, who also must play a double-header Saturday in Chicago.

When the lights were turned on before Thursday’s game, only a few bulbs in the bank of lights along the right-field line were illuminated. The problem was eventually located, but when the lights were turned on at 8:45 p.m. there were about 25 bulbs that remained dark.
