Penn So Happy Now That He’s A Wed Man Talking

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Sean Penn’s career, which boasts some of the best performance ever filmed, is on the rise.

Oscar-nominated for “Dead Man Walking,” the 37-year-old actor has three films coming out within the next two months, “She’s So Lovely,” “The Game” and “U-Turn.”

But these days, Penn - a one-time bad boy with a hair-trigger temper - is feeling the pull of family. Married to actress Robin Wright Penn, he co-parents two children, a boy and a girl.

“Family makes me feel there’s a reason I’m alive,” he said.

“I’m not going to accuse myself of being happy; just saying that would put me in a bad mood,” he told Time magazine. “But I am feeling productive. I’m feeling my life, which I didn’t always do, partly because I’d be drunk a lot. Now there’s a lot of good things going on.”

Loose talk

Actor Brendan Fraser to kids trying to imitate his tree-swinging stunts in the movie “George of the Jungle”: “Those were stunt trees. George not hurt himself. George happy monkey. Kids, don’t do this at home.”

He’d appreciate a little Cream on his coffeecake

Ginger Baker turns 58 today.

Remember, though, there are Eddie Haskells in the world

Barbara Billingsley, the original June Cleaver, understands the enduring appeal of “Leave It to Beaver.” “Wouldn’t it be nice if you came home from school and there was Mom standing there with her little apron and cookies waiting?” she said.

Yeah, it’s SO much easier doing a minimum-wage gig

Not everyone thinks that filming loves scenes is an easy task. “It was so tiring,” said Bill Bellamy, MTV personality-turned-actor who starred in the film “How to be a Player.” “You have to be romantic and sexy. You need a lot of ginseng, and motivational tapes.”

But don’t believe us - we’re just being sensationalistic

According to a press release, Christian Slater “regrets the events” that led to his recent arrest. He “is taking steps to ensure that this kind of thing will not happen again.” And he is upset over the “inaccuracy and sensationalism” of the news reports. Slater was charged with allegedly punching his girlfriend in her face, biting a man who came to her aid and then resisting arrest. He was released on $50,000 bond.

And another one bites the dust…

British millionaire Dodi al-Fayed, reputed to be Princess Diana’s summer fling, says he was never engaged to model Kelly Fisher. Fisher has sued al-Fayed for the remainder of the $500,000 he promised to pay her if she would cut back on her career and spend more time with him. So far, Fisher says, al-Fayed has paid her only $60,000.

She had to sit through ‘Star Wars’ one time too many

Here’s a news item that won’t surprise some Spokane residents: Suffering from a manic episode, Carrie Fisher checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital on July 30. So reports Entertainment Weekly.
