Great Falls Man Charged With Raping Woman 5 Times

Police here have arrested a man accused of raping a disabled women five times in seven days, after breaking into her home.

Michael Gordon Beauchman, 40, of Great Falls, faces five rape charges and five counts of aggravated burglary.

Police said the 25-year-old woman has a learning disability, and they are not sure of her ability to comprehend.

A police investigation began after the woman confided in a church friend last Sunday.

Rapes are alleged to have occurred Aug. 10, 11, 12, 13 and 17.

Beauchman was arrested Friday at the police station, after he arrived there for an interview. The woman and another person identified him in a lineup, said Detective Bruce McDermott.

He said the woman’s home was entered through a window, and through a door.

Beauchman made an appearance Friday before Justice of the Peace Billy Miller and was held on $150,000 bail. Miller is a former public defender who represented Beachman on a 1990 rape charge that was dismissed.

Beauchman was jailed on $150,000 bail.
