Man Resists Arrest In Domestic Incident

From Staff Reports

Blaming police for his problems, a 44-year-old man kicked, punched and threw a tire at officers when they tried to arrest him on Saturday, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman.

Ronald Edwards is accused of attempting to break into his estranged wife’s home in the 1300 block of East Bismark Avenue around 5 a.m., Cottam said.

Police found Edwards hiding in a storage area in the back yard, Cottam said. During a scuffle, Edwards allegedly tried to bite one of the officers. After being handcuffed and placed in a patrol car, he continued to kick and threaten to kill the officers, Cottam said.

Edwards was placed in leg restraints. When he got to jail, he complained of pain. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital and found to have no injuries, Cottam said.

Edwards was booked into jail for assault, and for violation of a no contact order. , DataTimes
