Woman Raped Near Shaw School

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are searching for two men accused of raping a Spokane woman who was walking by a North Side school early Tuesday.

The 36-year-old woman told police she left a tavern about 1:50 a.m. and decided to walk home since she had been drinking.

Near the south end of Shaw Middle School, she said the men grabbed her from behind, bound her hands with duct tape and covered her mouth.

She was dragged to the baseball field behind the Spokane School District 81 maintenance shop, thrown onto her stomach, kicked in the back and ribs, hit in the face and raped, police said.

The woman was treated at a local hospital and released. She could not provide a description of the men, police said.
