Four Youths Charged In Bruneau Fire

Three juveniles and 18-year-old Kalvin Bean of Mountain Home have been charged in Elmore County with starting 19 fires last month near Bruneau and C.J. Strike Reservoir.

Elmore County Sheriff’s Detective Catherine McCoy said Thursday that each suspect faces eight counts of third-degree arson. If convicted, each count carries up to 10 years in jail.

The fires burned about 500 acres of private and federal land and threatened a home before being brought under control.
