Nieman Makes Big West’s All-Frosh Team
Idaho’s Alli Nieman was selected to the Big West Conference’s all-freshman volleyball team.
Nieman, from Sandpoint High, had 177 kills, fifth-highest on the Vandals. Her .302 hitting percentage was tops among those who saw extensive playing time.
No Vandals made the all-Big West first team. Junior Jessica Moore was the lone Vandal on the second team. She had a team-high 369 kills and hit .244.

Idaho’s men’s basketball team entertains NAIA Western Montana (3-2) tonight at 7. The Vandals are 1-1 after beating Montana Tech and losing to Montana State, which is coached by Mick Durham, brother of Western Montana coach Mark Durham.
Kris Baumann is Idaho’s top scorer at 16 points per game.
NIC women 24th
The North Idaho College women’s basketball team is No. 24 in the latest NJCAA poll.
Ricks College (8-0), which visits NIC on Saturday at 5:30 is No. 8. Southern Idaho (8-1) is No. 21.
The NIC men (4-1) dropped out of the rankings after losing to Shorter College last Saturday. Dixie (9-0) is No. 5, Utah Valley (8-0) is No. 14 and Southern Idaho (8-0) is No. 18.
The Cardinal men face Yakima tonight at 7 in Christianson Gym before a date with Ricks on Saturday night at 7:30.
