Boozy Photo Of Son Greets Parents

Associated Press

Jeff Pettyjohn got in big trouble when his parents picked up the morning paper.

While his folks were away on vacation, the 20-year-old University of Memphis sophomore went to a party, where a photographer from The Commercial Appeal snapped a picture of him drinking from a beer keg.

Sheila and LeRoy Pettyjohn saw the picture after they got home from Paris on Friday.

The newspaper ran the photo as part of a story on college students and alcohol abuse. Pettyjohn had told the paper’s reporter he was 21.

The Pettyjohns said they were so embarrassed they revoked their son’s hunting privileges and arranged for the whole family to meet with a psychologist.
