Nordic skiing

Daily updates on ski conditions at Mount Spokane have resumed. Thank the Inland Empire Nordic Club, which quickly replaced the answering machine that was stolen last week. The number to call: 238-4025.

A ski rodeo will take place in the Mazama area at Methow Valley 11 a.m., Sunday which includes a 5k, 10k and 20k race. Registration will be at the Mazama Community Center. Info - 996-3287.

Alpine skiing/snowboarding

Ski Bluewood has opened the terrain garden on Tamarack for snowboarders and is offering the Platter Pole Package for $28. The Package includes a surface lift ticket, rental and 90 minutes of beginners lessons. Info - (509) 382-4725.

Forty Degrees North will host its Holiday Night Skiing from 4-8 p.m. today and Saturday. Also starting today, a three-day Holiday Camp Session will be held for beginners between the ages of 5-15. Info - 935-6649.

Schweitzer is offering its First Tracks Program for beginners which includes free downhill lessons, ski rental and lift ticket. Info - (208) 263-9555.

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling can finally begin as the groomers prepared trails on Mount Spokane and Brown Mountain Tuesday and grooming is underway for Kings Lake and North Baldy. Don’t forget to register those sleds.

At Beaver Lodge in Colville, trails haven’t been groomed, but they have been cleared.
