Irs To Distribute Organ Donor Cards

Organ donor cards will be included in federal income tax refund checks mailed this year to millions of Americans.

“This is an opportunity … to promise the gift of life to another human being,” Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., said Thursday.

The cards will be included in refund checks mailed out after Feb. 1.

Because organ donation can only take place with next-of-kin consent, many people die because potential donors have not informed their families, Camp said.<
