900 Series Sanctioned

Compiled From Wire Services

Jeremy Sonnenfeld has become the first bowler to roll three sanctioned perfect games in a three-game series.

“It’s total elation,” Sonnenfeld said after learning that Sunday’s feat was officially recognized by the American Bowling Congress.

The ABC, bowling’s sanctioning body, has kept records for 101 years. Sonnenfeld, a University of Nebraska bowler, is the first to officially roll 36 strikes in a three-game series.

Sonnenfeld will be presented with an award Saturday at the ABC amateur tournament in Huntsville, Ala., which includes 9,285 teams competing over four months.
