Bonners Ferry Triumphs, Keeps Share Of League Lead

Bonners Ferry stayed tied for the Intermountain League basketball lead Tuesday with a 56-33 victory over St. Maries.

The Badgers shot 42 free throws. The Lumberjacks only went to the line eight times.

Rosie Decker had 11 points to lead Bonners Ferry (8-1, 13-3). St. Maries (1-8, 6-13) got 10 points and six rebounds from Brooke Wolfe.

The Knights clinched the North Star League title by defeating Falls Christian behind a 19-point effort by Margaret SiJohn.

Lakeside (6-1 league, 10-6 overall) shot 27 of 43 from the field and outrebounded the Eagles 37 to 22.

Falls Christian (4-4, 8-10) was led by Carmi Eberle’s 15 points.

Priest River’s Missy Ennis scored 20 points while teammate Krissi Ruiz had 16 to move the Spartans’ season record to 10-8.

Wallace had no scorers in double figures.
