Kelly Robbins didn’t let the wind bother her as she fired a 3-under-par 69 to retain a one-stroke lead midway through the $500,000 Palm Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament in Florida.

At 9-under 135, Robbins led Cathy Johnston-Forbes, who shot her second straight 68 for 136 over the 6,195-yard Heritage course at Ibis Country Club.

Tracy Hanson of Twin Lakes, Idaho, was at 139 after a 68 while Clarkston’s Robin Walton missed the cut with a 152 after shooting an 80.

Mark O’Meara followed up five straight rounds of 67 with a 6-under-par 66 to share the lead with Steve Lowery at 11-under 133 after 36 holes of the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

Former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett just made the cut at 142 after a 71.

Defending champion Al Geiberger shot a 6-under-par 66 for a one-stroke lead in the opening round of the Senior PGA Tour’s LG Championship in Naples, Fla. He missed only one green - the 17th, where he saved par.

Vicente Fernandez, Isao Aoki, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Rocky Thompson and David Graham shot 67s.
