Police Warn Public Of Sex Offenders

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane police are warning the public about two sex offenders, saying one is soliciting baby-sitting jobs in downtown hotels and the other’s whereabouts are unknown.

The would-be baby-sitter, Robert Peter Clark, 27, has a long history of sex crimes, police said. He’s been convicted of raping of a 13-year-old girl and taking indecent liberties with an infant girl and two young boys.

Arrest warrants have been issued accusing Clark of assault, illegal possession of a weapon and failing to register his current address with police.

He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He has the tattoo of an ace and four dots on his right hand.

Police said another “high-risk” sex offender, Lester Armond Puerner, is now living in Spokane.

Puerner, 52, has convictions for child rape and indecent liberties.

Under terms of his release by the state Department of Corrections, Puerner is barred from having contact with minors and visiting places where children congregate.

Police say Puerner is 6 feet 5 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. The big toe of his right foot has been amputated.

Police refused to disclose Puerner’s address.
