The Idaho House has given final legislative approval to a joint memorial calling on Congress to send the states a balanced budget amendment for ratification.
The Senate-passed measure approved by voice vote Thursday is identical to a House-passed memorial awaiting action in the Senate.
The House sponsor, Rep. Lenore Barrett, R-Challis, said sending Congress two memorials urging passage of a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution would just underscore Idaho’s strong support for the action.
