Caring Carriers Bonnie And Matt Szuch

Ilene Wahl Of Cheney

I hate winter. I only endure winter in anticipation of the rest of the year. So I have a great deal of admiration for the folks who work out in the elements. This winter has tried even the most hardy souls.

We have had it all - the ice, the snow, the rain, the ice, the snow, the bitter cold! Yet every morning, without fail, my Spokesman-Review is tucked just inside my storm door. My newspaper delivery team is Bonnie and Matt Szuch, a mother and son team in Cheney. They are the best! Throughout the worst weather in years, my newspaper is always at my door before I am up.

The Szuches leave notes (along with the phone number of their substitute) when they are unable to deliver, they put the paper in a plastic sleeve when it rains, they keep an eye out for “unusual activities” in the neighborhood and they collect newspapers once a week for recycling.

They provide extra special service in a job that we all take for granted. Bonnie and Matt are Everyday Heroes!
