From Dog House To The Big House

A Spokane man who was running from police ended up in the doghouse.

Samuel William Wright, 21, attempted to escape from police Thursday night after they found methamphetamine in his car.

Wright, who was stopped at 500 E. Wabash for driving a car with missing taillights, ran into an alley, jumped a fence and hid in a doghouse.

The suspect was unaware that police brought a dog to the scene. The canine immediately sniffed Wright out of the doghouse, police said.

Wright was booked into the Spokane County Jail for possession of a controlled substance. Officers also found two sets of license plates in his car and more than $1,000 cash in his pocket.

He will be booked for six additional violations, police said.
