Idaho Woman Dies After Car Hits Tree
A Viola, Idaho, woman died Saturday after crashing her car into a tree. Lorraine M. Douglas-Hamer, 31, had been drinking, Latah County sheriff’s deputies said.
She was driving west on state Highway 8 at 12:23 a.m. Friday when she lost control of the car on a curve.
Deputies arrived first, providing first aid. Rescuers removed Douglas-Hamer through the rear window.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, then flown to Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane. She died the following morning.
