Tam Nguyen Chosen As Gonzaga Prep Princess

The first of 12 Lilac Festival princesses was crowned Monday night.

Tam Nguyen, a 17-year-old Gonzaga Prep senior, was chosen to represent her school. She is the daughter of Hoang and Thu Nguyen.

Nguyen is a cheerleader who belongs to the National Honor Society and the school’s classical music club.

She plans to study international relations and attend college abroad. Nguyen was chosen from a field of six contestants.

The princesses represent Spokane-area schools. One will be chosen Lilac Festival queen April 12 at Shadle Park High School. , DataTimes
