Expeditionary Wing To Go To Saudi Arabia
The Air Force’s 366th Air Expeditionary Wing is preparing for its largest deployment ever with 1,200 airmen scheduled to leave for Saudi Arabia starting this weekend.
They will be supporting Operation Southern Watch, which enforces the no-fly zone over southern Iraq. The Idaho personnel will serve a 90-day rotation before returning home, the Air Force said.
Three fighter squadrons and one tanker squadron will be deployed, flying a total of 52 aircraft. The first large group of support personnel will be leaving Saturday morning, and the 391st Fighter Squadron will be the first flying unit to leave on Sunday.
