Rasheed Brokenborough broke out of a shooting slump by scoring a career-high 31 points Thursday night, leading Temple to a 70-55 victory over No. 4 Cincinnati.

Temple (8-4) snapped a four-game losing streak against Cincinnati by shutting down Danny Fortson with an aggressive zone defense and hitting its outside shots.

The Bearcats (11-3) had their nine-game winning streak snapped as Fortson was held to a season-low nine points, snapping his streak of 43 games in double digits.

It was Cincinnati’s most lopsided defeat since an 88-72 loss to Temple on Dec. 16, 1993.

Brokenborough hit 8-of-14 3-pointers, several of them from behind the NBA arc on the floor, to end his slump.
