Spokane County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the driver of a blue Camaro, accused of intentionally running down a 14-year-old Otis Orchards boy Sunday.
The teenager was hit about 8 p.m. while walking to a video store with two friends on the eastbound shoulder of Wellesley near Corrigan.
Minutes earlier, people in the car yelled at the teens and the groups exchanged hand gestures, witnesses told deputies. The Camaro passed them, turned around, then crossed the road onto the gravel shoulder.
Two of the boys dodged the car by rolling into a ditch, but the 14-year-old was hit and thrown onto the hood.
He was treated at Valley Hospital and Medical Center for severe abrasions to his right shoulder, side and waist.
The car was last seen running a four-way stop sign, turning north on Harvard. Deputies said the Camaro has tinted windows and a black bra on the front grill.
