Body Of Man Found In Water At Upriver Dam

From Staff And Wire Reports

The body of an 18-year-old Spokane man was found in the Spokane River Tuesday morning.

A power plant worker found the naked body of Andrey A. Lebedinsky, of 2616 N. Hogan, pinned against the intake grates of Upriver Dam.

When pulled from the water, there were no visible signs of what caused his death, Spokane County sheriff’s Deputy Dave Reagan said.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death won’t be done until next week. Forensic pathologist George Lindholm, who would normally do the procedure, is out of town this week, Reagan said.

Sheriff’s detectives and Spokane Police Department representatives met Tuesday afternoon to determine which agency had jurisdiction over the case. Upriver Dam is close to the city-county border.
