Haley Hangs Up Cleats
Charles Haley, the only player in the NFL to win five Super Bowl rings, will retire before the start of the Dallas Cowboys season because of back injuries, he said.
Haley is signed through 1999 and will save the Cowboys $2 million in base salary if he retires.
Cornerback Terrell Buckley, who led Miami with six interceptions last season, signed a two-year contract extension, the Dolphins said.
The 5-9, 180-pound Buckley started all 16 games at left cornerback. His six interceptions tied for third in the AFC and were fourth in the NFL.
The Arizona Cardinals have signed veteran offensive lineman Rob Selby to a one-year contract. Terms of the contract weren’t released.
