North Side Churches Offer Summer Bible School

Two more local churches are offering vacation Bible schools for young children this summer.

North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison, will host “The Wild and Wonderful Good News Stampede” on July 14-18. The school will operate from 9 a.m. to noon each day and is open to all children ages 4 through the sixth grade.

The fun will begin with a pre-registration “rodeo” from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 12. The event will feature barrel racing, a greased “pig” race, “bull” riding, roping, sack races, and other games.

During the week, children will make crafts, sing songs, listen to Bible stories and play games. The week will wrap up with a closing roundup on July 18.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will hold its annual vacation Bible school starting July 11. “The Wild Frontier Bible Theme Park” is open to all children ages 3 through the sixth grade. The kids will watch a skit retelling the biblical story, make crafts and play games.

The free school will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. To preregister, call the church office at 325-5727. Registrations will also be accepted on the first morning of classes.

The church is located at 3909 W. Rowan.

Morgan Cyrer performs

The First Assembly of God Church, 828 W. Indiana, will host Morgan Cyrer in concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will benefit the Positive Life Radio generator project.
