Teen Arrested For Raping Toddler

A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with raping a 1-year-old girl on Friday, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman.

The mother apparently left the boy to baby-sit the girl for about five hours, Cottam said.

When she returned home, she found the infant had a cut lip and several facial injuries. The mother took her to a hospital emergency room, where nurses discovered the child had been raped, Cottam said.

The girl was admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation. Her condition was stable on Sunday.

The boy was booked into juvenile detention on charges of first-degree rape and second-degree assault, Cottam said. , DataTimes
