Repairs To Impede Traffic, Affect Lawns

A water main replacement project will block traffic and affect lawns on Government Way between Garden Avenue and Harrison Avenue in Coeur d’Alene for the next two months.

The city water department is replacing portions of the water main under the northbound traffic lane. Driveway access will be maintained as much as possible, said Jim Markley, water superintendent.

Residents also will receive notice of when their water service is about to be interrupted.

Portions of some lawns will be excavated to replace household taps. Lawns and landscaping will be restored at the completion of the project, Markley said.

The project is expected to be completed Aug. 31. , DataTimes
