Lobo Leads Liberty To Ninth Win

Rebecca Lobo scored 18 points, her best offensive showing in the WNBA season, to lead the New York Liberty to a 68-57 victory over the Rockers at Cleveland on Monday night.

It was the second straight win for the Liberty, who opened the season with a seven-game winning streak. The Rockers remained winless against teams from the Eastern Conference.

Janice Braxton scored 18 points for Cleveland, while Eva Nemcova added 16.

Lobo had eight rebounds to lead the Liberty, who outrebounded Cleveland 35-25 before a crowd of 6,749 in Gund Arena.

Wanda Guyton and Janeth Arcain each scored 17 points to lead Houston in a blowout of Utah.

Kim Perrot had seven steals for the Comets.

Lady Hardmon led Utah with 14 points.

The Comets dominated the low post, outscoring the Starrz 52-34 in the paint. Utah, meanwhile, outrebounded Houston 41-37.
