East Side Garage Fire Under Investigation

Spokane fire officials are investigating a blaze that destroyed a garage on East Pacific and damaged two others early Thursday.

Firefighters called to 2317 E. Pacific about 2 a.m. found a detached garage engulfed in flames.

The fire knocked out electricity and telephone service in the neighborhood for several hours.

Nearby garages at 2318 E. First and 2311 E. Pacific were damaged, officials said.

Five people, including the owner of the garage, were in the home at 2317 E. Pacific when the fire started. A neighbor got them out safely.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. , DataTimes
